Steve Groom

Steve has spent decades identifying ways to add value as a company’s lawyer while also serving as a strategic business partner. Steve has held General Counsel and executive roles with five companies, including four public companies (a Fortune 300 company, a Fortune 1000 company, and other public companies), and has practiced law in three prominent law firms, where he represented public and private companies of all sizes.

In addition to his General Counsel roles, Steve served as Chief Risk Officer, Chief Compliance Officer, and Chief Human Resources Officer for different companies, gaining broader perspective and experience. Steve has also been the Principal in the Nashville office of a national advisory / consulting firm.

Steve understands business and is able to combine practical business management with significant legal experience. He has completed Executive Education programs in strategic planning, negotiation, leadership, and management from the nation’s leading business schools, further developing his business acumen. In addition to his strengths in traditional legal areas, Steve is highly experienced and skilled in the areas of Litigation Management, Business Strategy, Crisis Management, and Enterprise Risk.
